Keyboard and Button Commands

Most menu items can be bound to joysticks buttons or keyboard shortcuts

LiveTraffic offers "commands" for the most important menu items. These "commands" show up in X-Planes configuration screens for Joystick and Keyboard asignments. All of them are grouped under the top-level category "LiveTraffic".

In XP11 the description is shown as the text to select in the configuration dialogs. In XP10 the command is shown as selection option, the description only shows up once a command is selected. (See below)

All commands are executed on key/button down event only, i.e. just once, no matter how long you press a key or button.

Keyboard

Go to X-Plane's settings for Keyboard. See here for X-Plane's manual on using the settings dialog. You find the LiveTraffic commands most easily when selecting Plugin Provided:

Assigned keyboard shortcuts appear on the menu next to the respective menu item, which helps remembering them.

Joystick Button

Similarly, when assigning joystick buttons (see here for X-Plane manual) you can refer to the very same commands in the right hand command selection:

Keyboard

In X-Plane 10 the user interface looks different, but the same functionality is available. See here the manual on the Keys settings. The trick for accessing plugin-provided commands is to press the little button indicated by the red arrow in the following screenshot:

Doing so opens another dialog, in which you select the "LiveTraffic" set of commands (just the main entry "LiveTraffic" is best) and click [Open]:

After that, you'll be returned to the assignment dialog (first screenshot) and you can select from the LiveTraffic commands for keyboard assignment.

Joystick

Go to the "Buttons: Adv" tab in X-Plane's settings. From there you have access to the very same set of commands as shown above for the key assignment. And the same trick applies: Click the indicated button for accessing LiveTraffic's set of commands.
